About Zambia’s Child
Zambia’s Child previously operated as Blessed to Bless Incorporated and was formed in 2007 and is a non-denominational Christian organisation based in Sydney. Blessed to Bless was re-branded to Zambia’s Child in late 2016 and is operated by the same committed team and supporters.

The mission of Zambia’s Child is to help alleviate poverty in Zambia, primarily through quality, Christian education and community development activities. Our goal is to promote long-term self-sufficiency within the community by raising capable Christian leaders. We aim to provide quality education for Zambian school children who would not normally be able to attend school, as well as adult skills training and literacy classes for those within the same communities. We also aim to provide emergency assistance to those in need, in order to achieve long-term goals.

In 2017 Zambia’s Child has sponsorship programs for around 120 primary school students in Chingola, a large town in the Copperbelt Province, and more than 150 high school students in Kitwe, about an hour’s drive south of Chingola. Zambia’s Child has 17 sponsored tertiary students and has 11 staff, including teachers, a social worker, and other support staff.

In 2013 Blessed to Bless acquired 2.5 hectares of land to build the Ipalo Christian Community School on the outskirts of Chingola. The first phase of a multi stage construction program commenced in July 2015. All fundraising and administrative activities are coordinated from the St Ives office in Sydney. All work done in Australia for Zambia’s Child is conducted by volunteers in order to ensure funds raised are totally devoted to the children’s programs in Zambia.

The organisation is governed and run by an Australian based Board (see Board Members page) in conjunction with the Zambian based team of Zambia’s Child.
